Subjectivity

We speak from our own unique perspective; this is inevitable. Our poem is colored by the light of our subjective values -- in praise or condemnation. The subjectivity, or "personalness," in the creation of art is diminished in haiku poetry, in which the process is mirror-like; we simply observe. The poem shows no symbolism or opinion. It just is.
