Our Relationship To Poetry

Music doesn't exist only in relation to us; it lives in its own world in this vibrating universe.

On the contrary, we exist in relation to music. It is our response to already-existing vibrations that makes our world what it is. We create our physical circumstances by our decision to listen to, and react to, the vibrant patterns in the world around us.

If music exists independently of human drama, perhaps we can also say that poetry exists on its own -- as thoughts and images and rhythms that are there for the taking.
