Daily tasks.

  1. Check email several times.
  2. Check my stats. For example: Who is visiting my site? Did they come from search engines, Usenet, or another source?
  3. Update any daily material.
  4. Check the discussion board. Answer questions. Start new topics of discussion. Delete any unwanted messages.
  5. Check the email discussion list. Read the messages, and then send out the digest. Check for new members.
  6. Submit 10 messages to Usenet newsgroups which are related to my products and services. (For example, if we sell sporting goods, we would visit sports newsgroups.) Use my sig file in those messages. Follow up previous messages, and write new messages.
  7. Submit 5 messages to mailing lists which are related to my products and services. Use my sig file in those messages. Follow up previous messages, and write new messages.
  8. Enhance my internet-commerce education. Visit discussion boards. Read email discussion lists. Visit news websites (e.g., Cnet, ZDNet, etc.) Visit business newsgroups in Usenet.

Weekly tasks.

  1. Check Dejanews for references to my company, my products, or me in Usenet newsgroups.
  2. Check for dead links on my site.
  3. Check my placement in search engines.
  4. Check for copyright violations of my material on other people's websites. At AltaVista and Hotbot, I can search for strings of text which should be only on my website.
