Fundamental to a language are:
1) the human being, respectively the group,
2) the circumstances of time and,
3) the categories.

These categories are:
a) generalizing,
b) expanding (as opposed to the more narrow lexical meaning)
c) deepening,
d) use based on concluding, as well as the
e) the change of meaning or semantic reversal
which also possibly takes place when works
are translated to another language or culture.

as abstracted from; 'Words after meditation'
Tominaga Nakamoto (1715-1746)

The filognostic translation of this would be:

The human being to time and circumstance
moving in categories of language
is of realization by language when he, translating previous cultures,
arrives at the conclusion that the deepening
and expanding of his concepts has a generalizing outcome:
unity out of diversity.

Those persons who know the Absolute and leave during the fire of daylight with a waxing moon during the six month's when the sun passes the north, reach the Supreme Spirit. The mystic who achieves to the light of the moon during the smoke of the night as also with a waning moon and the six months of the sun passing through the south, comes back.According the Veda's there are these two ways of light and darkness in passing from this world by which one either does not return or does return again. Of knowing any of these different path's, o son of Prthâ, the yogi is never bewildered; therefore always get unified in yoga, o Arjuna.

(10 -21) Of the Adithya's [Diti was the daughter of Daksa and wife of Kasyapa], I am Vishnu, of all the luminaries I am the radiant sun, Marici [a prajâpati, a father of mankind, and father of Kayasyapa] of the Maruts [the flashing gods] I am and of the divisions of the year [the constellations or of what is fixed] I am the Moon.

"Thought is time. Thought is born of experience and knowledge, which are inseparable from time and the past. Time is the psychological enemy of man. Our action is based on knowledge and therefore time, so man is always a slave to the past. Thought is ever-limited and so we live in constant conflict and struggle. There is no psychological evolution."

"When man becomes aware of the movement of his own thoughts, he will see the division between the thinker and thought, the observer and the observed, the experiencer and the experience. He will discover that this division is an illusion. Then only is there pure observation which is insight without any shadow of the past or of time. This timeless insight brings about a deep, radical mutation in the mind."

In de middeleeuwen bestond een scholastieke discussie

of was andersom de oudheid eigenlijk jong geweest,
omdat de beschaving toen nog in haar kinderschoenen stond,
en is het heden oud omdat de tijd al zo lang meegaat?

and would the present be old because the time is there for so long already?

The Quoran on Time

The Cow (Al-Baqarah)

2 - 126.

And remember Abraham said: "My Lord, make this a City of Peace, and feed its people with fruits,-such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day." He said: "(Yea), and such as reject Faith,-for a while will I grant them their pleasure, but will soon drive them to the torment of Fire,- an evil destination (indeed)!"

2 - 185.

Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qurán, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.

2 - 187

87. Permitted to you, on the night of the fasts, is the approach to your wives. They are your garments and ye are their garments. Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves; but He turned to you and forgave you; so now associate with them, and seek what Allah Hath ordained for you, and eat and drink, until the white thread of dawn appear to you distinct from its black thread; then complete your fast till the night appears; but do not associate with your wives while ye are in retreat in the mosques. Those are limits (set by) Allah. Approach not nigh thereto. Thus doth Allah make clear His Signs to men: that they may learn self-restraint.

2-194.

The prohibited month for the prohibited month,- and so for all things prohibited,- there is the law of equality. If then any one transgresses the prohibition against you, transgress ye likewise against him. But fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

2 - 189

189. They ask thee concerning the New Moons. Say: They are but signs to mark fixed periods of time in (the affairs of) men, and for Pilgrimage. It is no virtue if ye enter your houses from the back: It is virtue if ye fear Allah. Enter houses through the proper doors: And fear Allah. That ye may prosper.

2 - 282.

O ye who believe! When ye deal with each other, in transactions involving future obligations in a fixed period of time, reduce them to writing. (...)

The Family Of Ìmrán (Al-Ìmrán)

3 - 145.

Nor can a soul die except by Allah's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that (serve us with) gratitude.

The Table Spread (Al-Máída)

5 - 97.

Allah made the Kàba, the Sacred House, an asylum of security for men, as also the Sacred Months, the animals for offerings, and the garlands that mark them: That ye may know that Allah hath knowledge of what is in the heavens and on earth and that Allah is well acquainted with all things.

The Cattle

6 - 67

For every Prophecy is a limit of time, and soon shall ye know it."

6 - 70.

Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But continue to admonish with it (the Qurán) lest a soul is caught in its own ruin by its own actions: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah.

6 - 96.

He it is that cleaveth the day-break (from the dark): He makes the night for rest and tranquillity, and the sun and moon for the reckoning (of time): Such is the judgment and ordering of (Him), the Exalted in Power, the Omniscient.

The Heights (Al-Aráf)

7 -34.

To every People is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation).

7 - 51 .

"Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world." That day shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they were wont to reject Our Signs.

7 - 187.

They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not."

Repentance (Al-Tauba)

9 - 36.

The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year)- so ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: that is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves therein. And fight the Pagans all together as they fight you all together. But know that Allah is with those who restrain themselves.

Jonah (Yünus)

10 -5&6

It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for it; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who know.Verily, in the alternation of the night and the day, and in all that Allah hath created, in the heavens and the earth, are Signs for those who fear Him.

The Rocky Tract (Al-Hijr)

15-5

Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it.

The Night Journey (Al-Isrá)

17 - 12.

We have made the Night and the Day as two (of Our) Signs: the Sign of the Night have We made dark, while the Sign of the Day We have made bright; that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may know the number and count of the years: all things have We explained in detail.

The Prophets (Al-Anbiyáa)

21. - 39.

If only the Unbelievers knew (the time) when they will not be able to ward off the fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and (when) no help can reach them!

The Believers (Al-Müminün)

23 - 43.

No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it).

Light (An-Nür)

24 - 58.

O ye who believe! Let those whom your right hands possess, and the (children) among you who have not come of age ask your permission (before they come to your presence), on three occasions: before morning prayer; the while ye doff your clothes for the noonday heat; and after the late- night prayer: these are your three times of undress: outside those times it is not wrong for you or for them to move about attending to each other. Thus does Allah make clear the Signs to you: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.

The Spider (Al-Ànkabüt)

29 5.

For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah, the Term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming: and He hears and knows (all things).

The Romans (Ar-Roem)

30 - 8.

Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but in truth and for a term appointed, did Allah create the heavens and the earth, and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)!

The Wise (Luqmán)

31 - 29&30

.Seest thou not that Allah merges Night into Day and he merges Day into Night; that He has subjected the sun, and the moon (to His Law), each running its course for a term appointed; and that Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do? That is because Allah is the Truth, and because whatever else they invoke besides Him is Falsehood; and because Allah,- He is the Most High, Most Great.

Adoration (As-Sajdah)

32 - 4.

It is Allah Who has created the heavens and the earth, and all between them, in six Days, then He established Himself on the Throne: ye have none, besides Him, to protect or intercede (for you): will ye not then receive admonition?

32 - 5.

He directs the affairs from the heavens to the earth: then it ascends unto Him, on a Day, the measure of which is a thousand years of your reckoning.

The Groups (Az-Zumar)

39 -42.

It is Allah that takes the souls (of men) at death; and those that die not (He takes) during their sleep: those on whom He has passed the decree of death, He keeps back (from returning to life), but the rest He sends (to their bodies) for a term appointed. Verily in this are Signs for those who reflect.

Bowing the Knee (Al-Játhiya)

45 - 24.

And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture:

The Moon (Al-Qamar)

54 - 1, 2, 3.

The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon was cleft asunder. But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) continuous magic." They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.

54 - 28.

And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns).

The Assembly (Friday) Prayer (Al-Jumuá)

62 - 9.

O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!

Mutual Loss and Gain (At-Tagábun)

64 -9

The Day that He assembles you (all) for a Day of Assembly,- that will be a Day of mutual loss and gain (among you), and those who believe in Allah and work righteousness,- He will remove from them their ills, and He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that will be the Supreme Triumph.

Folded in Garments (Al-Muzzammil)

73 :1-7

O thou folded in garments! Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,- Half of it,- or a little less, Or a little more; and recite the Qurán in slow, measured rhythmic tones. Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Word. Truly the rising by night is a time when impression is more keen and speech more certain. True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties:

Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a reminder to mankind.

One Wrapped Up (Al-Muddaththir)

74: .. 31, 32-38

(...) Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a reminder to mankind. Nay, verily: By the Moon, And by the Night as it retreateth, And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,-. This is but one of the mighty (Portents), a warning to mankind,- to any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.

Time, Man (Ad-Dahr, Al-Insán)

76 - 1.

Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned?

The Time Through Ages (Al-Àsr)

103.1-3

By the Time,
Verily Man is in loss,.
Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual enjoining of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

De tijd wordt zo wijd
Je raakt er alles in kwijt
De tijd slijt, de tijd glijdt, de tijd splijt
De tijd wordt zo wijd, je raakt er alles in kwijt.

(As the time glides, the time rides, the time wears off.
The time dilates that much
You simply loose everything in it.
Time wears off, the time glides, the time regrets
The time grows so wide that in it everything does hide.)

(Cees Nooteboom, Stien, 1979,
in: Jacques Klöters en Kick van der Veer,
Ik zou je het liefst in een doosje willen doen, blz. 113)

De vraag is niet waar de tijd blijft,
maar waar datgene gebleven is wat in die tijd ooit echt gebeurd is.

(The question is not where the time is gone to,
but where that has gone to which happend to pass in that time.)

(Cees Nooteboom, Ik had wel duizend levens en ik nam er maar één!, blz. 11)

Time is the element in which we exist. ... We are either borne along by it or drowned in it.

Joyce Carol Oates, "Marya"

The clock talked loud. I threw it away, it scared me what it talked.

And when is there time to remember, to sift, to weigh, to estimate, to total?

George Orwell

A Joke:

"What's the idea of coming in here late every morning, Mulla?" asked the boss.

"IT'S YOUR FAULT, SIR," said Mulla Nasrudin. "YOU HAVE TRAINED ME SO THOROUGHLY NOT TO WATCH THE CLOCK IN THE OFFICE, NOW I AM IN THE HABIT OF NOT LOOKING AT IT AT HOME."
